EagleRider is a great company with a large global presence. We work closely with them often to put riders on motorcycles. However, with only one location south of Orange County in San Diego, business operating hours that don't work for all renters, and a limited selection of bikes, it's tough for EagleRider to cater so personally to renters who visit the San Diego area looking for a motorcycle rental 7 days a week 8am-8pm like Route 101 Motorsports does.

When you rent from Route 101 Motorsports you're renting a motorcycle that’s put through a meticulous top to bottom, front to back, complete mechanical inspection by a professional motorcycle mechanic before every rental. There is no guarantee the motorcycle you're renting from a private owner on a bike sharing platform has been serviced or maintained to the same standard. This is not something you want to find out while you're out riding!

Yes. All motorcycle renters must possess a valid current CA DMV M1 (Motorcycle Endorsement) or CA equivalent motorcycle license endorsement from another state or country.

Yes. All Route 101 Motorsports motorcycle renters must have supplemental vehicle loss, collision, liability, injury insurance. For your convenience we provide our renters with additional supplemental loss, collision, liability, injury coverage through MBA Insurance. The cost is nominal, and only adds $15-$33 additional per day to your rental.

No. If you read the fine print on your auto insurance policy or on your credit card vehicle insurance coverage limits, you will see that motorcycle, scooter, motorsports, etc. rentals are specifically excluded. Route 101 Motorsports offers the lowest rental insurance in the industry. Rental insurance will add just $15-$33/day to your rental depending on coverage you select!

Yes. All Route 101 Motorsports motorcycle renters must be (min) 21-years old.

Yes. Route 101 will provide (at no extra cost): Helmet, Eye Protection, Gloves and Jackets if you need them. If you possess your own riding safety equipment we encourage you to bring it and wear it on the day of your rental for your comfort. Note: Long protective pants, i.e., jeans or other heavy denim or heavy fabric pants and over ankle boots are required. Avoid wearing short sleeves to protect your arms.

Yes. All renters must pay a fully refundable $500 damage deposit either in cash or on a temporary credit card hold. Deposit is refunded in full when the vehicle is returned on-time and in the same condition it left in when your rental period started.

Yes. Before your rental begins a Route 101 Team Member will perform a thorough walk through with you to explain the features and functions of the vehicle and will check your rental vehicle with you for any pre-existing damage, scratches, dings, dents or any other pre-existing cosmetic or physical damage. Additionally, to ensure your safety and enjoyment of your rental experience, the Team Member will also walk you thru a Rider-Renter Safety Orientation for the specific vehicle you are renting.
